Projected Guided Missiles Flashcards

1
Q

How can you ID guided missiles?

A
  • comprised of at least three sections: guidance, warhead, and rocket motor
  • some will have control surfaces. Control surfaces are any movable airfoil used to control a guided missile
  • control surfaces are usually connected to guidance section and may use rocket motors for control
  • stationary or folding fins
  • may be deployed: air to surface, surface to air, surface to surface
  • can be guided by: infrared, radar, TV, radio and wire
  • may use internal terrain following and GPS
