Product scope vs project scope
Product scope: features/functions of product/result of project; measured against product requirements
Project scope: The work that must be done in order to deliver product with the specified requirements; measured against project scope statement and WBS
Project scope statement
First component of scope baseline / Output of Define Scope
Includes: product scope description, product acceptance criteria, project deliverables, project exclusions, constraints/assumptions
Work breakdown structure
Component of scope baseline / Output of Create WBS
hierarchical decomposition of work to be done
structures: by deliverable, by project phase, by system, etc
WBS dictionary: to ensure WBS makes sense throughout project: includes defined deliverables, schedule milestones, cost estimates, quality requirements, etc
Accepted deliverables
Output of Validate scope
Comes after Control Quality process / verified deliverables
