Offset lithography

A

Uses water and ink, which repel each other. Ink sticks to the printing plate and is rolled Obote a blanket cylinder, then the paper

A

Image is printed directly onto the paper from the ink covered flexible roll. Main commercial process.

Gravure

A

The image is engraved into the plate, which is then pressed into the paper
Uses - high quality photographic books, stamps

Expensive, high quality magazines and stamps. Fast and best quality print process but very expensive set up cost

Screen-printing

A

A stencil is laid over a nylon screen. Ink is scraped over and seeps through the screen onto the paper
Uses - tshirts, wallpaper

Uses a dark ink called toner, which is electrically attracted to the heated paper
Uses - duplicating documents
