Die cutting
Die cutting is using a metal die with sharp edges to press into the material to cut it.
The process is built up by cutting, creasing and using blades which are all the shape of the design which is being cut. Pressure is then applied either using hydraulic or mechanical means. The die cuts shapes in plastic, paper or card which can then be folded and glued to make 3D products such as packaging boxes and card containers.
Can be found on cards, packaging, business cards, stand up promotions etc
Dye sublimation printing
Dye sublimation printing is the process where you came take an image and copy it onto an object.
Aromoscent - “scratch and sniff”
Scratch and sniff technology generally refers to things that have been treated with a micro-fragrance coating. Scratch and sniff is created through the process of micro-encapsulation. The desired smell is surrounded by micro-capsules that break easily when gently rubbed. The rub to release action breaks the micro-encapsulated bubbles and releases the aroma. Because of the micro-encapsulation, th aroma can be preserved for extremely long periods of time. When scratched, the coating releases an odour that is normally related to the image displayed under the coating. The technology has been used on a variety of surfaces from stickers to stamps.
