Price Conditioning Flashcards
Intro
I’m sure at this point you were wondering how much windows cost…
(Show advertisement slide): i’m sure you’ve seen these things before
It’s called price point advertising
Price point advertising
It’s bait and switch marketing, they advertise like this to get their foot in the door
Just beware of anyone that gives you a price without seeing your home
Pricing is based on the quality of the product and install, and there is a wide range
Low end
This is the cheapest you can get
Made with recycled vinyl
No low E
Cut and caulk install
You’re better off keeping what you have
Mid range
This is a good starting point of what you should be considering
There are some upgrades like low e, virgin vinyl and welded corners
Still cut and caulk install
Typically will run between $1,000-$1,200 per unit
Upscale (permanent solution)
This tier has most of the things we talked about today - list features that matter to the homeowner
Most importantly, it will have a professional installation and lifetime warranty

Pella
So as I mentioned earlier Pella makes high end windows and low end ones
This is a quote for their higher end

Renewal by Anderson
These are Anderson’s top of the line windows, they are basically the Ferraris of our industry

Cost Value Report
This is like the Kelly Blue Book of home remodeling
They compile thousands of estimates to give you the regional and national averages for custom, energy efficient windows with a good installation and warranty
On average 10 windows cost $20,091 or $2,009 per window
But more importantly, you can see that windows get more expensive every year
Closing statements
What this does is give you an expectation for what it’s going to cost
Anything between Home Depot and renewal by Anderson, you can expect you are at least getting a quality product from a reputable company
The estimates you need to worry about is anybody that gives you a price below this Home Depot number
So I am going to work up your numbers now, I just need to run out to my car really quick. Is it okay if I let myself back in?
