Black Bag Window Presentation Flashcards
Introduction
When it comes to having a great experience, you need a great product, install and customer service
The last thing I need to talk about is the product
Our manufacturer = Pella
Has been around for almost 100 years
For a long time, they specialized in really high end windows
In 2002, they partnered with Lowe’s to create a lower-end window you can get off the shelf
Pella, and where we come in
So they had the high-end covered and the low and covered, but they were missing the middle, which is what most people want.
They are just looking for an energy efficient window, installed right at an affordable price
Because of our reputation and size in the industry, we partnered up
Together, we developed the Symphony series which is exclusive to Power. So if you like it you can only get it from us
Transition: best/worst vinyl windows
You can have the best vinyl window and put it next to the worst vinyl window, they are going to look the same, but not perform the same
For you guys, there are a couple of key things to look for:
- Corners - mechanically fastened
On standard windows, there are 12 corners: 4 in the top sash, 4 in the bottom sash and 4 on the frame
They are mechanically fastened (*pull out mechanically fastened corner), which is a fancy way to say they are screwed together
When the screws loosen, you get drafts, water and bugs
This causes higher energy bills, lower comfort and water damage like what you have in ___place (*hand sample and let them play)
- Corners - fusion welded
What we chose to do is fusion weld the corners
This makes them much stronger and much more durable
You don’t get water, drafts or bugs
And it keeps the window square so it always operates smoothly
So you are left with lower bills, more comfort and no window rot
Do you have any questions so far?
The flaw of vinyl
Vinyl is very energy efficient and maintenance free, but the 1 flaw is it’s strength
You’ll sometimes see that at the meeting rail, it will start to bow and sag
This makes it not look good, you lose energy efficiency and security can get compromised, like maybe it can’t lock anymore
This happens because most meeting rails are hollow
Our meeting rail
Our answer to this flaw is reinforcing the meeting rail with metal making it stronger and more durable
There is no bowing and sagging which makes sure the locks always line up giving you a safe and comfortable environment that is more energy efficient
Transition: from meeting rails to frames
Just like most meeting rails are hollow, so are most frames
Hollow frames = no insulation
This leads to higher energy bills, less comfort and lots of sound coming through your windows
+show echo chamber
Power frames
At Power, we foam enhance our frame with graphite foam
This reduces heat transfer
And leads to lower energy bills, more comfort and will drastically reduce noise giving you a more peaceful environment
Transition: we have talked about the frame and the vinyl, but if you look at a window it’s mostly glass
I’m just going to go over a couple quick things about the glass and get you the number
In a standard double pane, each piece of glass is 2mm thick
It’s thin, easy to break and lets in a lot of noise
We created Zen glass
It’s 3mm thick on one pane and 5mm thick on the other
This makes it 2x as thick and 2x as strong
This also makes it noise reducing because of the 2 different thicknesses
I didn’t get it until I was shown this
+pull out tuning forks
Tuning forks
Standard = both panes the same thickness - hit fork
Zen glass - hit it
Because it has 2 different thicknesses, it dissipates the noise
You’ll be amazed by the sound difference inside
Transition: the other reason glass is important is because of energy efficiency
*ask homeowner if this is the best outlet to use and turn on BTU
