Glucose intolerance during the pregnancy because of the hormonal shift

- BMI over 30
Why is GDM worrying in some cases
It can cause delivery complications and have a “big baby”
Why is weight management important during pregnancy
- Decrease risk of GDM
- Decrease risk of emergency deliver
- Decrease risk of other chronic disease
What is the interaction of a diet with weight management during pregnancy
PA is the biggest factor in managing weight because the decrease in risk was the same when a diet was added to the equation

No, there is no effect even with PA

What effects does PA have on placental health?
It makes the placenta more vascularized and so more efficient

- Reduces MAX HR and so also reduces the Maximal HR reserve, meaning that perceived intensity will be different during pregnancy than before
