What is category?
Airplane

What is class?
single-engine land class

What is type?
All turbojets, regardless of weight, require a “type” rating.
Non-turbojet (ie. turboprop) airplanes don’t have a separate “type” rating until they get above 12,500 pounds.
What is needed prior to solo?
Student Pilot’s License
Medical
Be at least 16 years of age
Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
Instructor endorsement - limited solo flight in a specific type (make and model) of aircraft.

What are the 5 hazardous attitudes & antidotes?
Anti-authority: “Don’t tell me.” - Follow the rules. They are usually right.
Impulsivity: “Do it quickly.” - Not so fast. Think first.
Invulnerability: “It won’t happen to me.” - It could happen to me.
Macho: “I can do it.” - Taking chances is foolish.
Resignation: “What’s the use?” - I’m not helpless. I can make a difference.
What are the severity of events?
Catastrophic—results in fatalities, total loss
