PPW Flashcards

1
Q

Describe

A

After a performance in netball against players of similar ability to me, I sat in the gym hall alone and got my PPW.
It was a sheet with a wheel on it with 8 mental factors around it, each factor having a scale from 1-10.
1 being a poor performance and 10 being an excellent performance. The - factors varied from …..
For each factor I rated how I felt I performed from a scale of 1-10, 1 being poor and 10 being great. I looked at my results and saw which factors placed high, making it my strength and which factor placed low, being my weakness.

Q

Expand explain Measurable

A

This is helpful because it gave me a permanent record of my data, so the data was there forever and I could consistently look back on it.

Q

Expand explain Practical and simple

A

This meant that it was easy to set up, carry out and analyse my results due to the fact that the norms were readily available and could be interpreted easily.

A

This is because it is a standardised test that is regularly used, that has norms and has been researched.

Q

This means explain Valid

A

This means I could play as I typically would play, giving me an accurate impression of how I normally play so my correct strengths and weaknesses were identified.

Q

This means explain Measurable

A

This meant that after training, I could re-test and compare my old score to my new score, which can allow me to monitor how effective my training is and if it needs to be changed or not.

Q

Expand analyse Complete the PPW immediately after the game

A

This is because if I wait too long I can forget how I truly felt about each specific factor during the game and end up lying and making up answers in order to complete the wheel.

Q

Expand analyse Complete the PPW in a quiet area on my own

A

This is because it allows me to be calm and take the time to properly concentrate on my performance rather than being distracted and writing down random data.

Q

Expand analyse I choose the PPWs factors

A

So that they are factors that I understand. This is because if I do not understand the factors I will just make up an answer for the sake of finishing the PDP instead of knowing exactly how I felt in that subfactor.

Q

Expand analyse Keep a digital copy

A

This is because if I lose my physical copy, once I have completed a re-test I will not be able to see if I have improved or stayed the same in the mental factors as I will need to guess my previous answers.

16
Q

This means analyse Complete the PPW immediately after the game

A

This could lead to inaccurate results which can give me a weakness that isn’t my real weakness, leading me to create a PDP for the wrong factor, wasting my time.

17
Q

This means analyse Complete the PPW in a quiet area on my own

A

This could lead me to achieving correct data with my accurate results, allowing me to create targets in my PDP to help me improve my physical weakness.

18
Q

This means analyse I choose the PPWs factors

A

This could lead me to set approaches at the incorrect intensities within my PDP as I don’t truly know what my physical weakness is.

19
Q

This means analyse Keep a digital copy

A

This means the re-test is pointless and I do not know if my PDP is working and if it needs to be changed and I may make incorrect changes which would halt my progress.

A

Gave me a permanent record of my data, so the data was there forever and I could consistently look back on it

23

A

This is because I ended up just making up an answer for the sake of finishing the PDP instead of knowing exactly how I felt in that subfactor.

24
Q

A

This is because if I want to appear better physically to my coach and peers I can lie about how I feel about my performance

25
Q

A

This meant that the test was completed quickly and my results were appropriately analysed, allowing me to create an effective development plan to improve my weaknesses.

26

This meant that after training, I could re-test and compare my old score to my new score, which can allow me to monitor how effective my training is and if it needs to be changed or not.

27
Q

This means evaluate didnt understand factors

A

This means that I got inaccurate results of my true weaknesses and so set incorrect targets for my weakness

28
Q

This means evaluate qualitative

A

This lead me to set approaches at the incorrect intensities within my PDP as I don’t truly know what my physical weakness is.
