Q

Describe SCAT

A

-First I played a game of netball and after I had played, I took the test consisting of 15 questions asking me about my emotions before and while I played my sport.
-I took the test in a classroom with my classmates.
-In the test, I answered the questions with the answers provided, they ranged from rarely, sometimes and often.
-When I had answered all of the questions I analysed the score. I could compare this score to SCAT norms to see if my anxiety is a strength or weakness of mine.

Q

Explain scat this means - valid

A

This means I could play as I typically would play, giving me an accurate impression of how I normally play so my correct strengths and weaknesses were identified.

Q

Explain scat measurable

A

This is helpful because it gave me a permanent record of my data, so the data was there forever and I could consistently look back on it.

7
Q

Explain scat this means measurable

A

This meant that after training, I could re-test and compare my old score to my new score, which can allow me to monitor how effective my training is and if it needs to be changed or not.

Q

Explain scat practical and simple

A

This meant that it was easy to take the test and analyse my results due to the fact that the norms were readily available and could be interpreted easily.

Q

Analyse scat Complete the test immediately after the game

A

This is because if I wait too long I can forget how I truly felt about each specific factor during the game and end up lying and making up answers in order to complete the test.

Q

Analyse scat this means Complete the test immediately after the game

A

This could lead to inaccurate results which can give me a weakness that isn’t my real weakness, leading me to create a PDP for the wrong factor, wasting my time.

Q

Analyse scat complete test in quiet area on my own

A

This is because it allows me to be calm and take the time to properly concentrate on my performance rather than being distracted and writing down random data.

16
Q

Analyse scat this means complete test in quiet area on my own

A

This could lead me to achieving correct data with my accurate results, allowing me to create targets in my PDP to help me improve my emotional weakness.

17
Q

Analyse scat Understand each statement

A

This is because if I do not understand the questions I will just make up an answer for the sake of finishing the data gathering instead of knowing exactly how I feel.

18
Q

Analyse scat this means Understand each statement

A

This could lead me to set approaches at the incorrect intensities within my PDP as I don’t truly know what my mental weakness is.

19
Q

Analyse scat Keep a digital copy

A

This is because if I lose my physical copy, once I have completed a re-test I will not be able to see if I have improved or stayed the same in the emotional factors as I will need to guess my previous answers.

20
Q

Analyse scat this means Keep a digital copy

A

This means the re-test is pointless and I do not know if my PDP is working and if it needs to be changed and I may make incorrect changes which would halt my progress.

21
Q

4 points evaluate scat

A

Piece of data I can save and keep
Completed in a loud and unpeaceful environment with my friends.
Qualitative test done by me, about me
Simple to set up and easy to complete

22
Q

Evaluate scat Piece of data I can save and keep

A

This makes the test effective because I can go back to my result from weeks ago after emotional training and see if I have improved.

23
Q

Evaluate scat this means Piece of data I can save and keep

A

This means I can see if my PDP has worked on helping make my anxiety better and if the score has stayed the same I can look at different approaches to changing my anxiety.

24
Q

Evaluate scat Completed in a loud and unpeaceful environment with my friends.

A

This makes the test ineffective because I can end up picking random answers for the sake of getting the test completed quickly so I can continue talking to my friends.

25
Q

Evaluate scat this means Completed in a loud and unpeaceful environment with my friends.

A

This means that the test is not completed completely truthfully and my results may be altered, causing me to create a PDP for the wrong emotional factor and improve on the wrong weakness.

26
Q

Evaluate scat Qualitative test done by me, about me

A

This makes the test ineffective because if I wanted to appear less anxious, I can lie about my real feelings before and during performance so that it does not look like I have poor anxiety management.

27
Q

Evaluate scat this means Qualitative test done by me, about me

A

This means the test is less reliable and my PDP will not focus on my real weakness, allowing that weakness to get worse.

28
Q

Evaluate scat Simple to set up and easy to complete

A

This makes the test effective because it makes me more inclined to test my anxiety as I know it will not take long and will not confuse me.

29
Q

Evaluate scat this means Simple to set up and easy to complete

A

This means that I spend less time gathering data so I can work on developing my weakness quicker and eventually my PDP is finished quicker and therefore I can move to another emotional weakness to work on to improve me as a whole.
