  • weiss ring (thin, irregular ring of translucent material floating in the vitreous.
  • vitreous haemorrhage (occasionally)

what are the complications of PVD?

A
  • Haemorrhagic PVD
  • retinal tear
  • Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment

A
  • no treatment required unless associated with retinal tear.

- symptoms usually resolve BUT membrane doesn’t reattach.
