College:
- Wider provision than sixth form
- 16+ education
- May have level 5 quals
- Start at Level 1
- Foundation degrees
- Prepare for world of work as well as HE.
- Tertiary colleges- provide vocational skills.
Arts and design college:
- Specialist to arts and design and preparing for that sector.
Facts about apprenticeships
Apprenticeships:
- Apprenticeships are on the job training with time off for study.
- Alongside on the job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
- Lined with a recognised provider.
