Nannies

A

They usually care for children belonging to one family in the parents’ home. Most of the time a nanny will be ‘live in’. They typically work alone to meet the needs of the children they care for.

Q

Day nurseries

A

This is usually a private provision so parents will pay for their child to attend. However, there are some that are government funded. A day nursery is usually open all year round from early morning to early evening. They often provide wraparound services and each child has a key person.
