Sitting up
What is fowlers position?
W position sitting knees drawn in

Recovery
What is the trendelenburg position?
Head low, feet and body raised

Spinal/head injuries
What is the semi recumbent position for?
Respiratory and heart.
What is the upright position for?
Respiratory. Lung and heart and for DIB
What is lower limbs raised for?
Severe bleeding
What is the fowler position for? 4
Relaxes tension on abdo.
Peritonitis, appendicitis and abdo/internal injs
What is stable side for?
Unconscious
Recovery position is for?
Unconscious. Allows postural drainage and protects airway
Patient inclined to left side position is for? 3
Conscious with Pleurisy, chest injury or pneumonia
If patient is unconscious and has chest injury, what position do you put them in?
Recovery injured side down
What is the prone position for?
Severe maxillo facial injuries to allow for drainage
