Any Person Arrest
PACE act 1984 Section 24A
Any person other than a constable may arrest without warrant anyone in the act of committing an indictable offence or RGS is committing an indictable offence or when an indictable offence has been committed anyone who they know is guilty or they have RGS is guilty of the offence
Section 76 of the criminal justice and immigration act 2008
The question whether the degree of force used by a person was reasonable in the circumstances is to be decided by reference to the circumstances as they believed them to be. Can rely on that belief even if mistaken.
