PNS Receptor Actions Flashcards
What do M1, M4, and M5 receptors act on?
CNS
What is the rule of thumb for cholinergic receptors of the PNS?
M2 on the heart, M3 everywhere else
What does an M2 receptor do to the heart?
Decrease contraction/HR
What does an M2 receptor do to the lung*?
Contract bronchial SM
What does an M2 receptor do to the GI*?
Increase motility
What does an M3 receptor do to the eyes?
Miosis
What does an M3 receptor do to the endothelium?
Increase NO synthase
What does an M3 receptor do to the sphincters?
Relax them
What does an M3 receptor do to the GI?
Increase motility, secretion
What does an M3 receptor do to the lung?
Contract bronchial SM
What does an M3 receptor do to the detrusor?
Contract it
What does an M3 receptor do to the trigome?
Relax it
What does an M3 receptor do to the skin?
Increase secretions
What does an M3 receptor do to the saliva?
Increase K+, H2O secretion
