Pneumatics Flashcards
Where do you get air for the pneumatic system?
Air for the pneumatic system can be supplied by the engines, APU, or a ground air source
What all rely on the pneumatic system for operation?
- Air conditioning/pressurization
- Wing and engine anti-ice
- Engine ground start
- Cargo heat
- Center hydraulic system air driven pump (ADP)
- Hydraulic reservoir pressure
What happens to apu bleed air after an engine start?
After an engine start, the engine bleeds take over and the apu bleed closes till the other engine is started. Once both are started, the engine bleeds take over.
Which stages of the engine do we get bleed air from?
High pressure and low pressure. They vary the source based on the demand.
What kind of switches are the engine bleed valves?
Electro Pneumatic
Bleed air valves may close for periods of low demand. True or false?
True
Which side of the airplane is the high pressure air hooked up to?
Aft left side
Max apu bleed air extraction altitude?
17000
If a bleed overheat occurs, what happens to the engine high pressure valve?
If a bleed overheat occurs the engine high pressure valve is auto-matically closed. Low pressure air continues to flow to the affected side
The only way to get the apu bleed valve open with both engines running and engine bleeds open is to either shut the engine bleeds off or turn the center isolation switch … True or false?
True
