How can you silence an apu fire horn?

A

The bell or horn may be silenced by any of the following actions:

  1. Extinguishing the fire (bell and horn).
  2. Pushing either Master Warning/ Caution reset switch (bell).
  3. Pulling the appropriate fire switch (bell and horn).
  4. Pushing the appropriate cargo compartment armed switch (bell)
  5. Pushing the nose strut mounted APU shutdown switch (horn). 6. Pushing the main cargo depressurization switch (bell)

What all does pressing the cargo fire depress switch do?

A

Pushing the CARGO FIRE DEPRESS switch (DEPR CARGO) results in a gradual depressuriza-tion of the aircraft and commands the following actions:

  1. Shuts down right pack during two pack operation. With single pack opera-tion the operating pack will go to a low flow.
  2. Commands left pack to low flow.
  3. Closes valves supplying air to main cargo deck (aft of the smoke barrier).
  4. Shuts down supplemental heaters in supernumerary compartment.
  5. Illuminates the “USE OXYGEN” alert lights in supernumerary compartment and lavatory.
  6. Closes main deck zone trim air valves.
  7. Silences the fire bell.
  8. Shuts down heat valves in lower cargo compartments.
  9. Opens the E/E smoke override valve.
  10. Inhibits master warning light and aural warning for cabin Altitude
