Hydraulics Flashcards
What is the power source for the rat switch?
Hot battery bus
What are the conditions for rat deployment?
Both engine n2 below 50%
Aircraft is in the air
Min 80 kts airspeed
What min airspeed do you need to maintain for the rat to be effective?
130kts
What hyd system does the rap help power?
Center system
What is the function of the rat?
Provide essential flight controls using the center system
Can the rat be manually deployed on the ground?
Yes .. Press the switch
How many hyd systems do we have?
3
Left, center , right
How many hyd pumps on the left system?
2
One engine driven and one electric
How many hyd pumps on the right system?
2
One engine driven and one electric
How many hyd pumps on the center system?
3
2 electric and 1 air driven pump
When does the adp kick in?
When it senses a low center system pressure or in times of great dmand
What powers the adp?
Bleed air
How many total hyd reservoirs do we have?
3.
One for each system
What pressurizes the hyd reservoirs?
Bleed air
Where is the center hyd pump heat exchanger located?
Right main wing tank
Where is the left hyd pump heat exchanger located?
Left main fuel tank
Where is the right hyd pump heat exchanger located?
Right main fuel tank
How much fuel do you need to have im the main tanks to run the electric hyd pumps on the ground?
4000 lbs
When only one electrical generator is operating with both electric pump switches ON and both L and R system electric pumps operating, what happens to the number two center electric hyd pump?
It is inhibited
During engine start, which electric hyd pump is inhibited during engine starts?
Left electric hyd pump
What happens to right electric hyd pump any time flaps are out of zero on the ground?
on the ground, the right demand pump comes on continuously any time the flap lever is in the 1, 5, 15, or 20 position. This assures pressure to the normal brakes during takeoff.
When do all the edp’s operate in auto mode?
When there is a demand..
What does the reserve brakes isolation light mean?
The reserve brakes and steering isolation (ISLN) light illuminates to indicate the center hydraulic system is isolated
Does the aircraft go into reserve brake mode automatically?
Yes
What is the purpose of pressing the reserve brake switch?
Pushing the reserve brakes and steering switch signals the number one electric pump to operate regardless of the pump switch position. The switch also signals the control valves to move to the isolated position.
What should the valve light do when you press the reserve brake switch?
It should extinguish now that the valves agrees with the switch commanded position.. If the light still stays on then the valve is not in agreement with how the system should be configured when in reserve brake mode
If you are single gen, which electric hyd pump is inhibited?
Number 2 electric hyd pump in the center tank
When does the quantity light come on?
Reservoir quantity is about half
