26
Q

What generates the eicas n1 rpm?

A

EEC AND TMC both generate it.

27
Q

What happens if the EEC n1 data is lost?

A

The TMC n1 data is displayed

28
Q

That unit controls the engine in low power settings?

A

FCU

29
Q

What kind of unit is the FCU?

A

Hydromechanical

30
Q

What is used to control the variable pitch stator vanes?

A

Fuel pressure

31
Q

How many mechanical fuel pumps are in the accessory gear box?

A

2

Low Pressure pump and high pressure pump

32
Q

Which are 2 fuel valves for the engine?

A

Spar valve and engine fuel valve

33
Q

Where is the spar valve located?

A

Main fuel tank

34
Q

Where is the engine fuel valve located?

A

In the FCU

35
Q

Will the engine fire switch close both fuel valves?

A

Yes

36
Q

What switch controls the spar valve and engine fuel valve?

A

Fuel control switch

37
Q

When will you get a fuel filter message?

A

Impending bypass

38
Q

What all does putting the start selector to GRD do?

A

Engages the starter and closes the associated engine bleed valve

39
Q

Minimum n2 before introducing fuel?

A

15%

40
Q

Normal n2 before introducing fuel?

A

20%

41
Q

What is max motoring mean?

A

Maximum motoring speed is reached when acceleration is less than approxi-mately 1% in five seconds

42
Q

What is starter cutout speed?

A

50% n2

43
Q

What does the starter cutout light mean?

A

Starter did not cutout

44
Q

What does the L OR R ENG STARTER eicas message mean?

A

Means the starter did not engage for the start

45
Q

Where is the engine inflight start envelope displayed following an engine failure or shutdown?

A

With an engine shutdown in-flight and the secondary engine display selected, the in-flight start envelope is displayed in table form in the lower left corner of the EICAS Primary CRT

46
Q

When do you get the oil pressure light?

A

Should the oil pressure drop below 10 psi, the respective L or R ENG OIL PRESS light will illuminate and the L or R ENG OIL PRESS mes-sage will appear on EICAS.

47
Q

What happens if you loose the hydraulic system for an associated reverser?

A

That reverser becomes inop

48
Q

What does REV ISLN light and the L or R REV ISLN VAL eicas mean?

A

There is a fault in the reverser system. It will still deploy but may not stow.

49
Q

Which are the places where engine vibration is monitored?

A

N1, N2, and low pressure turbine sections.

The vibrations are processed through a tracking filter which separates vibrations asso-ciated with the fan, N2 and low pressure turbine (LPT). The component with the highest vibration is identified and the highest vibration value is shown on the EICAS vibration display.

50
Q

What happens if the vibration tracking filter fails?

A

If the filter fails, engine vibration is displayed and identified as broad band (BB). The system is a trend type with each engine having its own vibration characteristics and normal values at different thrust settings

51
Q

How high can the apu be operated?

A

Up to the service ceiling of the aircraft

52
Q

What does the apu battery supply power to?

A

The apu door, the starting circuitry and the apu starter

53
Q

What does the airplane battery supply power to during an apu start?

A

The fire detection for apu, apu fuel valve, the dc fuel pump

54
Q

What happens to the dc fuel pump after the apu has started?

A

It shuts off and the left forward fuel pump kicks on and supplies fuel to the apu regardless of switch position

55
Q

What starts the apu start sequence?

A

Placing the switch to run.

56
Q

What is the apu starter duty cycle?

A

3 consecutive start attempts followed by 60 mins off

57
Q

What does the apu run light mean?

A

When the APU RUN light illuminates, the APU may be used to supply electrical power and bleed air.

58
Q

Do you get a apu cool down if you turn it off and the apu was supplying pneumatics?

A

Yes. Usually a 60 second cool down

59
Q

Do you get a apu cool down if you turn it off and the apu was not supplying pneumatics? Aka the apu bleed valve was closed already for more than 60 secs..

A

No.. It will shut down immedietly.

The time delay has to do with the apu bleed valve. The time is started from the time the apu bleed valve closes.

60
Q

What happens to the apu bleed valve when you shut down the apu?

A

It closes if it was left open.

61
Q

What does the apu do if you turn off the airplane battery on the ground/air?

A

It goes thru the cool down cycle and then shuts down.

In the air, the apu will continue to run.

62
Q

What does the fault light come on for?

A

Uncommanded apu fuel valve position or fire

63
Q

What happens if you get a fault light?
