Engines & APU Flashcards
What kind of engines do we have?
Cf6-80c
Which section runs the accessory gear box?
N2
When will the thrust reverser status be amber?
When the sleeves are in transit or the reverser is unlocked
When will the reverser status be green?
Once fully deployed
When will the stby engine indicator automatically activate?
In the event that both EICAS computers, CRTs or primary electrical system fail, the liquid crystal Standby Engine Indicator is automatically activated.
How many eicas computers do we have?
2
What happens if the primary eicas crt fails?
Shows everything on the secondary eicas crt
Describe the automatic call up feature?
EICAS incorporates an automatic call-up feature that displays information automatically when necessary.
If the EICAS Secondary Display is not in view and an N2 RPM reaches the Red line limit, both N2 indications are automatically displayed
What is the green TAI mark on the N1 indicator?
Min thrust required for anti ice ops. If you are below that it turns amber
How many idle speeds do we have? Which is the higher one?
- Minimum idle and approach idle.
Approach idle is higher. ( we dont know specific values for them)
What happens to approach idle speed on touchdown?
Stays there for 5 secs before going back to minimum idle speed for enhanced thrust reverser operation.
What does the engine low idle advisory message mean?
the L or R ENG LOW IDLE advisory message signifies that an engine failed to go to approach idle
What does the idle disagree advisory message mean?
the IDLE DISAGREE advisory message means that the engines are at different idle settings.
Can u get forward thrust in reverse thrust ops?
No its locked out
What powers left reverser
Left hydraulic system
What powers the right reverser?
Right hydraulic system
Can the reserver be operated in flight?
No its mechanically locked out
What is the function of the thrust management computer (tmc)?
The Thrust Management Computer (TMC) calculates a Reference N1 based on existing pressure altitude and ambient temperature data from the air data computer
Does the auto throttles follow manually set n1 settings?
No
Can you flex and derate at the same time?
Yes
How many levels of derated climb is available?
2
How many levels of derated climb is available?
2
At what altitude is derated climb automatically terminated?
12000ft
What is the function of the EEC?
Trim the fuel flow using the trim motor
What kind of a unit is the EEC?
Electronic
