How is this different from cost benefit analysis?

A

A technique used to evaluate identified options in order to select the options or approaches to use to execute the project.

  • using staff with lower skills levels instead of experts > consequences on time to complete, cost, risk
  • renting a larger truck > cost more, but fewer trips?

Cost benefit analysis mainly refers to the trade off of (quality) benefits of the deliverables of the project to the cost. So not “how shall we do this activity?” But “is this activity worth it in relation to the output of the project?”
