What is the imperfect subjunctive of HABER
hubiera / hubiese hubieras / hubieses hubiera / hubiese hubiéramos / hubiésemos hubierais / hubieseis hubieran / hubiesen
What are the past participles
AR = ado
ER / IR = ido
When is it used
1) If clauses (si clauses)
e. g i would have spoken, if i had had the opportunity
I would have spoken if i had had the opportunity
Habría hablado, si hubiera tenido la oportunidad
What phrase is always followed by past subjunctive
AS IF = como si
1 . Follow ‘como si’ by the imperfect subjunctive =
present time hypothesis
E.G teenagers talk as if they have all the answers
Teenagers talk as if they have all the answers
Los adolescentes hablan como si tuvieran todas las respuestas

past time hypothesis
