PPL Airplane eligibility requirements (6)

can you log PIC time if you’re in a complex + high performance aircraft and your friend is acting as PIC and you’re the sole manipulator of the controls? why?
yes because you’re in an aircraft with someone who has the correct ratings/endorsements. you can log the PIC time but you cannot act as PIC
definition of current
accomplished the minimum FAA reg requirements so he/she can exercise the privileges of their certificate. means you’re technically “legal”

What is SIC time?
- qualified by SIC by 61.55 and occupies crew member station in an aircraft that requires more than 1 pilot.
- holds appropriate cat, class, and inst. rating for the aircraft being flown and more than 1 pilot is required
what medical is required for PPL

can you go fly after taking allergy medication
technically yes but it is not recommended. 14 CFR prohibits pilots performing crew member duties under medication that affects the body in any way contrary to safety

- US Drivers license

able to conduct anything with your pilot certificate and a third class medical

- no more than 5 passengers, 6 including yourself
- maximum takeoff weight no more than 6000 pounds,
- aircraft that is authorized to carry no more than 6 occupants
- flight in US at indicated airspeed of 250 or less, and altitude at/below 18,000ft MSL
- No fly for compensation or hire

- have a CMEC that shows recent physical exam within past 48 months
- being treated by a physician for medical conditions that may affect flight safety
- course completion certificate issued by BasicMed training course provider within past 24 calendar months
