How long is a pilot certificate good for?
A Private Pilot License (PPL) does not expire, but the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may permanently revoke it.

To continue to use your pilot certificate, what must you do?
The three primary legal criteria required are a current medical certificate, a flight review every 24 calendar months, and if you intend to carry passengers, three takeoffs, and landings within the last 90 days (same category, class, and type (if type is required))
If night, three takeoffs and landings to a full stop at night
your 24-month flight review can be performed by an instructor (1-HR ground and 1-hr flight and logbook endorsement) or complete a phase of Wings or add a rating like IR or a BPC
