slightly elevated, dome shaped papule; vary in skin color; can have hair; may have irregular/warty appearance; more common in fair skinned;
compound nevus
Compound or dermal nevus that forms a white border; has round sharply demarcated border; usu on trunk
halo nevus
Hairless oval or irregularly shaped brown lesion, dotted with darker spots; brown area flat with raied block dots
speckled lentiginous nevus
Brown macule or patch of hair; occurs on shoulder, submammary area, back; irregular border but sharply demarcated; teenage boys
becker’s nevus
hairless, red or brown dome shaped papules or nodules; size 0.3-1.5 cm; incr vascularity; appear suddenly; children
benign juvenile melanoma
Slightly elevated, round, regular;
blue nevus
white spots on arms and legs; 2-5 mm with sharply demarcated borders; occur on sun-exposed extremities of middle aged/older
idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis
d/t local blood vessel sensitivity to catecholamines
nevus anemicus
oval, ash leaf or stippled macules on arms, legs, and trunk
tuberous sclerosis
