Phimosis: Nonretractable oreskin. Etiology: Lichen sclerosus, nonspeci c balanoposthitis (posthitis is inf ammation o oreskin or prepuce), lichen planus, cicatricial pemphigoid, chronic lymphedema, andKaposisarcoma.Precludesexaminationo glans orprecancerouschanges(Fig.34-5).
■ Balanitisxerotica obliterans(BXO):End stage o chronic phimosis.Foreskin brotic,contracted, xed over glans and cannot be retracted over glans. Most o ten end-stage lichen sclerosus, which is com- monly re erred to as BXO (see Section 14, lichen sclerosus).
■ Paraphimosis:Foreskin xedinretraction.Etiology:Vigoroussexualactivity,acutecontacturticaria, acute allergic contact dermatitis, or lichen sclerosus
