Symptoms: Pruritus, burning; pain with ulceration.
■ Clinical ndings:Early:erythema± hypopigmentation.Later:typicalivory-orporcelain-whitemac-
ulesandplaques;whitecausedbylosso dermalvasculature(Fig.34-15).Ecchymosis(Figs.34-15
to 34-17), bullae, and/or erosions may occur in involved sites. May obstruct urethral ori ce.
■ Demography:Ten times move common in emale. Causes phimosis (Fig. 34-15) in boys.
■ End stage: BXO. E acement o normal architectural eatures: labia minora and clitoral hood may be
absorbed (Fig. 34-16).
■ Course: Invasive SCC can arise in this site o chronic inf ammation.
■ Management: Clobetasol ointment; monitor or steroid-induced atrophy, pimecrolimus, and
tacrolimus.
