■ Symptoms: Not pruritic; pain in eroded lesions, anxiety about sexually transmitted disease.
■ Clinical ndings:Violaceousfat-toppedpapules,discreteorconfuent.Lacywhitesuracepattern
most commonly on glans. Older lesions may have grayish hue with melanin incontinence. Annular
lesions occur on glans and sha t (Fig. 34-12). Bullous and/or erosive LP (Fig. 34-13) on glans, vulva.
■ Distribution:Glans,penileshat(Fig.34-12),andvulva.
■ Course: Spontaneous remission; erosive LP may persist or decades; SCC complicates rarely.
