Phenomena Flashcards
How many phenomena are there?
Two, namely Chemical and Physical
What is physical phenomena?
Phenomena where there is no transformation of one substance into the other.
Which properties are affected during physical phenomena?
State of Aggregation
Temperature
Density
Shape
Size
Volume
Pressure
Speed & etc
Example of physical phenomena?
Dissolution of sugar in water
Spread of odor in the air
What is the main point of physical phenomena?
Substances do not change composition or structure, and no new substance is formed
What is Chemical Phenomena?
This is when one substance is converted into another substance.
What occurs during Chemical Phenomena?
The composition and structure of substances change; new substances form out of the atoms of the original substance
What term is given to substances that go into the reaction?
Reactants
What term is given to the substance produced via the reaction?
Product
