A

MOA: combo of sulfapyridine (antibacterial) and 5-aminosalicylic acid (anti-inflammatory), activated by colonic bacteria

USE: UC, Chron disease (colitis component)

AE: malaise, nausea, sulfonamide toxicity, eversible oligospermia

orlistat

A

MOA: inhib gastric and pancreatic lipase –> dec breakdown and absorption of dietary fats (taken w/ fat-containing meals)

USE: weight loss

AE: abd pain, flatulence, bowel urgency/frequent bowel movements, steatorrhea, dec absorption of fat-soluble vitamins
