  • Enduring pattern of inner experience or behaviour that deviates markedly from the expectations of an individual’s culture and not manifestations of another mental or physical illness and result in distress or impairment in normal function.
  • Developmental conditions that appear in childhood or adolescence and continue to adult life
  • Cannot be explained as manifestation or consequence of other adult mental health disorders
