What is an Introvert?
A
- Characterised by being quiet, passive, reserved and shy - usually associated with individual sport performances.
- Does not need a high level of arousal
- Become over aroused when overstimulated
- Get energy from being quiet and solitary
- Self-motivated
- Individual sport where concentration/precision (fine skill) is required
e.g. Archery, Swimming, Darts, Golf, Running

What is an Extrovert?
A
- Characterised by being sociable, active , talkative and outgoing - usually associated with team sport players.
- Needs a high level of arousal/ aroused by others
- Can lack concentration/ seek exciting situations
- Energy from interaction with others
- Enthusiastic, prone to boredom when isolated
- Prefer fast-paced, lower concentration and use of gross skills
- Often leaders
e.g. Rugby, Netball, Football, Hockey

Identify a sport that would be most suited to an Introvert. Justify your choice. (4 MARKS)

Sport (AO1) = 1 MARK
Justifications (AO2) = 3 MARKS
Golf would be most suited to an introvert because you do not need a high level of arousal. They also get energy from being quiet and reserved meaning that they could become over aroused when overstimulated.
Also, they use fine skills where concentration and precision is required.
