Ethical areas of research
1) informed consent: occurs when a person knowingly, voluntarily agree to research activities
2) protection: requires the researcher to resist probing questions when possible consequences outweigh the benefits to the research
3) anonymity & confidentiality: can’t link the subject’s identity to the responses
4) objectivity: avoids bias in design, data, analysis or interpretation to ensure
5) openness: requires an honest discussion of the research purpose before conducting research and a truthful delivery of the results
Accessibility
ADA - Americans with Disabilities Act
Prohibits discrimination in employment, public services, transportation, public accommodations and telecom services against people with disabilities
Aids for disabled; interpreters, magnifying glass for reading, recorded text, oversized letters
