Needs - definition and examples
A
- Definition: reduces health risk by improving health and wellbeing (PIES)
-Examples: responding to physiological indicators to prevent further illness - identify signs of issues eg high blood pressure + taking appropriate action to prevent complications

Wishes - definition and examples
A
- Definition: respects their preferences, choices and wanted health outcomes. They feel being listened to and can get when they want and need. Know what suits them best and feel included in the decisions about their own care.
- Examples: prefers vegetarian food, prefers male or female caregiver, respecting religion (Ramadan serve meals at night in respect of fasting)

Circumstances : definition and examples
A
- Definition: tailors their care to their age, ability, location, living conditions, support, physical/ emotional health. Enables them to retain their dignity and some independence.
-Examples: tailor to the age of service user, provide transport (ambulance) so patient can travel to their appointments/ check ups.
