a complication of acute tonsillitis
bacteria between the muscle and the tonsil produce pus
a collection of pus outside the capsule of the tonsil

how does it present?
A
unilateral throat pain and odynophagia trismus 3-7 days of preceding tonsil and uvula medial displacement of tonsil and uvula concavity of the palate lost

how is it managed?
A
aspiration and antibiotics
potentially tonsillectomy
