what is it?
A
Mixed hearing loss is a combination of conductive and sensorineural hearing loss, there is damage to both the outer or middle and inner ear

how is it diagnosed?
A
an audiogram as at parts there is a significant air-bourne gap (BC within normal limits) and at others the BC may suggest a sensorineural hearing loss

what can cause/ increase risk of mixed hearing loss?
A
genetic factors birth defects diseases infections tumours or masses head injuries otosclerosis
