what is it?
A
round smooth, soft, semi-translucent pale or yellow structures attached through relatively narrow stalk to the nasal mucosa

pathogenesis?
A
how they form is unknown - they contain lots of immune cells and block the nasal canal but don’t cause sneezing
occur with inflammation and oedema of the sinus nasal mucosa
the oedematous mucosa prolapses into the nasal cavity and can cause significant nasal obstruction

how is it managed?
A
intranasal steroids
if large and unresponsive to medication then surgery may be necessary
