Q

what are the 3 pericardial layers the heart sits in and there location?

A
Fibrous pericardium- tough outer covering that attaches the heart to the diaphragm. It protects and anchors the heart from over stretching.
Serous pericardium (2 layers) - the parietal layer (outer layer) and visceral layer (internal layer) aka Epicardium. The space in between the serous pericardium is the pericardial cavity that contains pericardial fluid.
