Q

what is the diffrence between a (CABG) coronary artery bypass graft and (PTCA) percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty?

A

Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)- is when a new blood vessel is spliced in to go around the blockage and Precutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA)- is when they insert a catheter that inflates and squashes the plaque, to prevent more blockage from forming. some times they wire a mesh tube too to keep the plaque from blockage.
