Internal and external communications
Explain communication
It is the transferring of a message from the sender to the receiver who understand the message
Explain the type of communication
1.Internal communication is between two members of the same organisation
2.External communications is between the organisation and the other organisation or individuals
Explain what is involved in effective communication
(i)A transmitter/sender of the message
(ii)A medium of communication
(iii)A receiver of the message
(iv)A feedback from the receiver that message received and acknowledged
Explain one way communication
It involves a message that does not require a feedback
Explain two way communication
It is when the receiver give a response to the message received
Explain downward communication
Massage from manager to subordinate
Explain upward communication
Message from subordinate to manager
Explain horizontal communication
It occurs between people on the same level of an organisational structure
Explain the type of communication method
- Verbal (telephone,conversation,face to face)
Advantage of verbal communication
(i)Quicker and efficient
(ii)There is an opportunity for an immediate feedback
(iii)Speaker can reinforced the message
Disadvantage of verbal communication
(i)time-consuming
(ii)No guarantee that the message is understood
(iii)No wriiten proof for reference

advantage of written communication
(i)There is evidence of message to reference
(ii)can include details
(iii)Can be copied and send to many people
Disadvantage of written communication
(i)Direct feedback might not been possible
(ii)cannot ensure that if message has been received or acknowledged
(iii)Long message may cause disinterest in receiver
