internal obturator membrane, forms a tendon that leaves through the sciatic foramen, through the room between ischial spine and tuberosity, and posterior inferior of the hip
what is the attachment of the obturator internus?
the medial border of the greater trochanter of the femur
what is the function of the obturator internus and piriformis?
lateral rotation of the extended hip joint and abduction of flexed hip (LEAF RB)
where does the piriformis originate from?
anterior surface of sacrum between anterior foramina
where does the piriformis insert?
medial aspect of the superior greater trochanter
what are the innervations of the obturator internus?
L5, S1
what are the innervations of the piriformis?
L5, S1, and S2
