-Anxious concentration on breathing ( child will stay very very still) - Sitting up and leaning forward, usually with chin thrust forward
- Pain on swallowing and speaking

Rapid, irregular breathing,
Exhaustion
Sleepiness and changes in LOC
Cyanosis
Rapid pulse and dropping BP
Signs of dehydration
Wheezing
Quiet or silent chest
Cardiac arrest for children
signs and symptoms
Increased or decreased HR
Unequal central ( femoral) and distal pulse rates
Poor skin color and delayed capillary refill
Altered mental status.
***Perform 5 cycles of CPR b4 calling EM
seizures in children
Febrile seizures are caused by high fever. Most common
seizures in children
- Arms and legs become rigid
- The back arches
- Muscles may twitch or jerk in spasm
- Eyes roll up and become fixed, with dilated pupils
- Breathing is often irregular or ineffective
- The bladder and bowels lose control.
