affects women with history of diabetes , heart disease, kidney problems , or high BP

- swelling in the extremities
- sudden gain weight (1kg per week)
- pronounced swelling of face
- decreased urinary output
- severe headaches
- vomiting
- sudden seizures

- sudden , sharp , abdominal pain on one side
- pain under the diaphragm
-tender bloated abdomen - vaginal spotting /bleeding
- missed menstrual
- signs of shock

A
placenta is positioned in the uterus in an abnormally low position.
so in labor the placenta separates from the uterus
