PDP Flashcards
What is a PDP
A personal developed plan
What are the principles that should be considered when producing a PDP 4
-if its specific for development, eg an Illinois agility test is recommended to improve agility. This means you can ensure that you will make improvement efficiently and quickly and reach your target
- if my programme isn’t specific/ realistic to my ability then it may become to difficult. This may mean you become unmotivated as you aren’t reaching your unrealistic goals
- overall length of your PDP so you have time to improve. Eg when improving your approach it takes weeks to see the improvement. Therefore you should plan to train 6-8 weeks before expecting to see results
-when you’re available to complete your PDP. You should plan training sessions as well as rest days to ensure you recover from the sessions and remove injury
Describe how a PDP can be evaluated
Describe a method of data collection and say how you used it
Why is it important to review progress at the end of your development plan 3
-identify current strengths and weaknesses. Begin future planning and making new approaches for the identified weaknesses
- checking the appropriateness of approaches so they can be changed in new planning. This is to make sure training is more effective for any adaptations
- impact of the whole performance can be identified. This can allow for a measurement if progress and can used for a tool of motivation
Describe the possible challenges when returning to an activity
- deteriorating levels of CRE means I couldn’t fully participate in all aspects of training
- I lost my position in my team and had to train separately which was lonely
-confidence levels may of changed and there would be a need for practices to be unpressed until my confidence was restablished
-consistency of skill level was affected so i made more mistakes
Explain what a performer may consider when carrying out a PDP after an injury 4
- identified new strengths and weaknesses. Use retesting so new targets are established so my training is appropriate
-intensity of my training- train at an appropriate level to avoid new injuries or burnout
-keep motivation levels high. Reduce pressure of practice drills so I could still experience success and remain confident
- walk through drills to establish my roles in the team. Meaning I may develop to having the confidence of being in pressured situations
