Approaches Flashcards

Q

Approach to develop mental factor

A

Deep breathing

I carried this out before my training session in a quiet space on my own either in the games hall or changing rooms

  • I turned off all electrical appliances to remove any distractions, i lay on my back with my eyes closed in a relaxed position

It’s carried out as followed, i breathed through my nose for 3 second. I he.d this in for 3 seconds, then breathed out my mouth for 3 seconds

I would then open my eyes and stand up calmly, the. Focused to give 100% on each section

Q

What’s an approach to develop the social factor

A

Team building games

We started by getting into a circle of 6 people

We all put our right hand in the circle and grabbed somebody who was not directly next to us

We then completed this with our left hand and grabbed somebody different

On our teachers whistle we began untangling the human knot

Q

Whats an approach for all 4 factors

A

An approach i used to develop was conditioned games in football

-this preach had two teams of 5 players with a similar ability

  • before the game started, the teacher and our class identified the sub- factor being developed- identify two sub-factors

-the game was played over 5 fifths and lasted 5 minutes each

-the condition of the game was that only one player in each team was allowed to sub factor during each fifth

Q

Why was conditioned games used an approach 4

A
  • no equipment required and easy to set up- this meant i maximised the time i had to develop my performance during trading and lost no time while setting up
  • it gave every player the opportunity to sub-factor this meant it gave us the confidence to explain the sub factor

-Easy for my coach to watch. They were clearly evaluate our performance and give accurate feedback on what’s good and needs improving

-they developed my whole performance along side my sub-factor skill. This means that my skill level and tactical understanding improves along side ,y factor skills which lead to giving strong performances

Q

Analyse the approach that could be given to develop all factors 3

A

conditioned games

-two teams consist of players of similar ability. This means the skill would be technically fair and players would give their all in games and not become disheartened which will lead to then sub-factor and develop their factor performance

-the team captain goes first- thy already have good sub-factor skill which can set a high standard for others to follow. This means that they can incorporate strengths of their captains performance to boost their performance

-consider the time limit set in each fifth. If the time was too low it could mean performers dont get much of an opportunity their sub-factor skill whilst if it was too high then not everyone will get the same opportunity to have a shot, as there is only so much time in a lesson

Q

Evaluate how effective this approach was to develop your performance for all 4 factors 2

A

-my coach was able to set each player a short-term goal based on their position. This meant that our goal keeper for example was given a high target to achieve which led them to sub-factor more in games to ensure throughout the whole game there was a limited amount of goal scoring oppertunities for the opposition

— coach was able to provide very specific feedback on our goals, clear idea if what we had to improve upon in games which led to us being more co-operative with each other as we moved the ball up the pitch quickly when on counter attacks

Q

Describe an approach for the physical factor

A

Continuous training

I carried out this approach around the outside of my football pitch.

I did this by jogging a steady pace for 20 mins

In this time, i tried to stay at 70’% of my Maximum Heartrate

  • i progressed this approach in my next session by increasing the time of my session from 20 mins to 23 minutes

Q

What are the disadvantages of continuous training

Evaluate the effectiveness of CRE 2

A

Doing the same action for a long time can become boring and lead to a decrease in effort and my CRE may not improve as much as it could

Also my commitment to actually completing my training programme would be reduced and I may give up trying to improve my weakness altogether

Q

Approach to develop the emotional factor

A

Visualisation is a very popular approach amongst elite level athletes.
It is initially performed at home with no distractions. It involves imagining yourself being successful in a high pressure moment, over and over again. The situation should include all of the senses relevant to your scenario.
For example, when imagining taking a penalty kick in football, you see the goalkeeper bouncing on their line, hear the noise of players trying to put you off and feel the rain hitting you.
To progress visualisation, you would gradually decrease the reps so you can get calm quicker and then use it in match situations.
