What are the 4 types of training the certificate holder must ensure a crew member undergoes?

Explain introduction training
Is required when crew member is not a qualified and not acting crew member under the certificate holder. New crew, if IFR must, have 250h and current IR
Explain transition training and training required
Is required for current crew members who are qualified acting under the certificate holder, changing from one a/c type/variant to another or if the nature of the operation changes. Training must include all new safety & emergency equipment and associated procedures, any new procedures/equipment and any new HF/CRM.
Explain upgrade training and training required
Is required for crew members who are qualified and acting as crew members under the certificate holder, who are taking up a new crew member position that requires more responsibility in the same a/c. Training must address any new safety & emergency equipment/procedures applicable to the new role, any new supervisory skills and any new HF/CRM
Explain recurrent training.
How often?
Is used for crew members who are qualified and are acting as crew members under the certificate holder, so that they remain current and proficient at the job/role on the a/c type, crew member position or type of operation.

What areas of instruction must be covered in a flight sim and training devices by the CH?
Ground and flight instruction
Pilots who fly TJ/TF/METP will usually be required to cover the ground & flight instruction in a sim of the same a/c type for initial, transition, upgrade and recurrency training. When may they not have this training in a sim?
Which a/c may training be always in a an a/c?
If the simulator is not in NZ/AUS, in which case the training may be completed in an a/c if the same type that is used in the air operation.

What is line training? When is line training required?
After initial, transition or upgrade training, when you are not quite signed off to act in the role by yourself.
Line training is a series of revenue earning flights where the pilot is trained for their role of gate to gate/daily routine flying.
How long must their record of training be held?
3 years after the date the employee ceases to perform duties requiring a license/rating, or excercise any delegation or authorisation
