Q

General signs and symptoms and cardinal

A
General:
The difficulty starts and stops movement
Fatigue
Festering gate
freezing
Sleep disturbances
Swallow issues
Many more as everyone is different
Cardinal

Q

Basial ganglia and dopamine

A
Putman + cudate = striatum
subthalamic nucli
globus paladine internus
globus paladine exturnus
thalams

Dopamine deficiency means that the direct (go) cant be excited and that the indirect (stop) cannot be inhibited

Q

Queuing what is it and why it works

A

In PD the supplementary motor cortex is damaged but the pre-motor cortex involved in the sensory-guided movement is still intact

Because of this, we are able to use visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic inputs/stimulants to allow for functional movement patterns
