myobia musculi- mouse mite, non burrowing. single tarsal claw, enlongated body
radfordia affinis- non burrowing. unequal terminal claws
mycoptes musclinus- most common in mice (inguinal area). oval body, 3/4th legs w suckers
radfordia ensifera- rats. 2 tarsal claws are equal
guinea pig mites
trixacarus caviae- burrowing mite, neck/shoulders
C/S- itchy, keratosis, alopecia
path- epidermal hyperplasia, adults and eggs in stratum corneum. affect humans
chirodiscoides caviae- posterior trunk-> subclinical, itchy skin, alopecia
tx- ivermection

non burrowing, crusty ears
sarcoptes- burrowing mite. hair loss, crusst, secondary infection, hyperkeratosis
