Define Physiology
The study of the body nd its parts and how they function
What are the assumptions of the biological approach?
Everything physiological is at first biological
Much of human behaviour has physiological causes which may be genetically or environmentally altered
Psychologists should study the brain, the nervous system and other biological systems
The mind lives in the brain
Define neurochemical?
The chemicals in the brain that regulate physiological/psychological functioning
What is a monozygotic twin?
1 zygote - these twins are formed when fertilised cells split into 2 and form 2 separate embryos
What is a dizygotic win?
2 zygotes - these twins are formed when 2 separate eggs both become fertilised by different sperm cells
What is a concordance rate?
The similarities between things (agreement rate)
Some random facts about concordance rates?
Twins will have high concordance rates
No one has 100% concordance rate
DZ twins will have lower concordance rates (normally around 25%)

What are the negative evaluations about Gatton’s comments?
It is a simplistic view
Gatton latter agreed that the environment could play a role
