What were ancient Egyptians?
Egyptian’s were skilled artists and builders, and much that we know from life in Egypt comes from paintings found on the tombs of walls.
What purpose did these paintings have?
These paintings show Egyptian’s at work and play, but there purpose was not decoration, they were created to provide the person buried in the tomb with all of the objects and pleasures shown on them.
What else did Egyptian artists create?
Egyptian artists Also created wonderful sculptures. A sculpture is a statue or other free-standing piece of art made of clay, stone, or other material.
Which statues stood in temples and tombs?
Colossal statues stood in temples. Egyptian’s also placed smaller statues of people in tombs along with their mummies.
What would happen if a mummy was destroyed ?
If a mummy was destroyed, the statue could replace it as a home for the dead person’s spirit.
